The former Panamanian president was tried


The former Panamanian president, Manuel Noriega, was tried in Paris with the accusation of the money washing and the case this could increase his stay in the prison 10 years more. The person who now is believed in was 76 years old that, governed Panama from 1981 to 1989. He was extradited from the USA in April after two decades was incarcerated in the prison because of the smuggling of narcotics. One French court punished him in absentia 10 years during 1999.

France agreed tried came back if he was extradited from the USA. This meeting will take place three days. Nevertheless, the verdict not yet will be announced in several forthcoming months, said the report on the AFP news agency. Noriega, that emerged with black hair that was combed behind, appearance trembled when giving information, said the AP reporter who was present at the meeting. When being asked concerning ketidaksesuai the date of the birth in several different documents, he originally answered on February 11 1936, afterwards corrected him himself by saying he was born in 1934. He spoke through the translator.

It was second-hand that the leader denied it did the money washing with a value of 15 million franc (2,8 million dollar) from the Medellin cocaine group in Kolombia went through the bank that now is closed, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI). The money was it was suspected used by his wife, Felicidad, to buy three luxurious apartments in Paris. The three flats have been seized by the upholder's agency of the French law.
